We are seeking dependable and experienced Backup CNAs to be an essential part of our team, stepping in to uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional care. As a Backup CNA, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high-quality care our patients deserve. You'll be there to assist individuals with disabilities, aiding them with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming. Your compassionate support will extend beyond these tasks—you'll also provide companionship, monitor vital signs, and accurately document patient information.


POSITION

Backup Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

PURPOSE

On a shift-scheduled basis, provide personal assistance services to individuals with disabilities as outlined in the Plan of Care, within the scope of practice for the role within the service line, and under the direction of the Skilled Services Coordinators and Senior Manager of Clinical Operations.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Maintain availability via cell phone while on duty and respond to calls promptly
  • Assist in any way needed during the assigned shift under the direction of the Skilled Services Coordinators and Senior Manager of Clinical Operations, which may include performing scheduled or extra consumer visits
  • Perform a wide variety of skilled and unskilled tasks as outlined in the Consumer’s Plan of Care, encompassing roles such as CNA, PCW, IHSS, and IDD responsibilities
  • Maintain timely records of home visits in accordance with PASCO policy and governing body rules and regulations
  • Foster strong two-way communication with Skilled Coordinators, the On-Call Nurse, and PASCO administration
  • Proactively communicate any issues, including client concerns, clinical queries, special circumstances, compliance questions, etc.
  • Understand and comply with all appropriate HIPAA regulations, ensuring strict consumer healthcare record privacy and confidentiality
  • Adhere at all times to rules and regulations established by State and Federal Agencies as well as PASCO’s administration
  • Attend assigned meetings or proactively seek information presented through alternate means
  • Maintain 12 CEUs per year
  • Ability to work weekends and outside of business hours when staffed CNAs are not available
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job requirements

EXPERIENCE

  • CNA and/or home health experience (highly preferred)

Education and/or Licenses:

  • Graduation from a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program
  • QMAP Certified (highly preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • CPR training (PASCO provides at NO cost)
  • Must have all compulsory trainings required by PASCO administration (e.g. bowel competencies)

Knowledge, Skills, & Strengths:

  • Consumer Service: Ability to establish and maintain relationships with consumers, providing professional, appropriate, compassionate, and empathetic care
  • Maintaining Commitments: Ability to consistently fulfill commitments, show up as promised, and maintain strong communication
  • Collaboration: Ability to maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate flexibility, and balance self-interest with agency interest
  • Knowledge of State, Federal, and Licensing rules and regulations for care delivery and documentation by Home Care Agencies
  • Knowledge of unique issues related to care delivery for people with various disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with a diverse population

Physical or Other Requirements (with little or reasonable accommodation):

  • Requires walking or standing for a significant amount of time
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Requires stooping, kneeling, twisting, crouching, grasping, lifting, reaching, and pushing
  • Access to a reliable automobile with a valid Colorado driver’s license and insurance.
  • While on duty, the ability to travel and provide services to all of PASCO’s service areas within an appropriate timeframe. Drive time is compensated and mileage is reimbursed

JOB TYPE: Shift-based scheduling

COMPENSATION: $20-$25/hour with $500 SIGN-ON BONUS!

SCHEDULE:  Candidates either have the option of working a permanent shift schedule OR PRN shifts (see below)

1.) Permanent Shifts: Day shifts available: Sunday and/or Monday 5a - 3p; Night shifts needed: Thursday/Friday/Saturdays 3p - 10p

2.) PRN Scheduling requires the x5 shifts/month; schedule created 30 days prior with all open shifts posted 1st and 15th of every month).
