POSITION

Personal Caregiver


POSITION PURPOSE
As a Personal Caregiver, you will be asked to assist with IHSS Homemaker and IHSS HMA services, thus supporting PASCO's mission, vision, and promise of putting families first.  

IHSS Homemaker - assist with general household activities to ensure a healthy and safe living environment, such as housekeeping, meal preparation and laundry.

IHSS HMA - assist with skilled health-related activities typically provided by a certified or licensed attendant, (e.g. CNA).  In IHSS, the Nurse Practice Act has been waived so that members have the flexibility to hire and train staff without certifications or licensure.

  

PURPOSE

To provide weekly support to a female individual with disabilities assisting with transfers, bathing, dressing, mobility, activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, hygiene, transfers, feeding, respiratory care, positioning, bladder/bowel care, hair, nails, mouth care, medication assistance, accompaniment and exercise.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Assist with bathing- assist client with bathing/hygiene which could include skin care, nail care, mouth care
  • Assist with general household activities to ensure a healthy and safe living environment.  Can include: housekeeping, meal prep and laundry, dusting, floor care
  • Transfers - assist client with transfers. Client uses an electric wheelchair.
  • Medication Reminders - provide reminder to client to take medication.

Job requirements

POSITION INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current auto insurance
  • Prior home health experience (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Able to access app on mobile phone for timekeeping

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Stamina to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Mobility to bend, stoop, kneel, twist at hips.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to assess needs and respond promptly.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions given by client


COMPENSATION: Homemaker - $15.75/hr & HMA - $18.54/hr


SCHEDULE & LOCATION: This position is located in Westminster, CO 80021. Friday afternoons/evenings, Saturday mornings/afternoons/evenings, Sunday mornings.

Schedule would look like:

    IHSS HMKR:

    Friday 12pm-3pm

    Saturday 12pm-3pm

    IHSS HMA:

    Friday 5pm-11pm (1 hour break)

    Saturday 12am-9am and 5pm-11pm (1 hour break)

    Sunday 12am-9am
